Invasion, Robbery and Kidnapping: Three in custody

The crime occurred on February 24th this year when a gang of 6 men attacked a night watchman and entered a hotel and restaurant complex overlooking Nacascolo Bay, just north of San Juan del Sur. After holding several people against their will while they collected items to steal, the gang left the premises with their hostages, using the victim’s vehicle. A passing police motorcyclist “innocently” saved the day when the gang fled after the motorbike went by. According to the Rivas Police, Wilber José Muñoz López, 25, Mauricio Antonio Argueta Lara, 19 and Juan Francisco Hurtado, 20 are all in custody. Evidence against them includes a back pack containing the National Identification of one of the suspects which he left at the scene of the crime. Other evidence includes information from a camera cell phone as a well as a positive identification by one of the victims. The search for the other three suspects continues.
